The Halsted Society membership is limited to 80 surgeons and other individuals in allied branches of medicine. Active members have the right to hold office, present papers, to serve on all committees and to participate in all transactions of the Society.
Active members, upon reaching the age of 55 or who have been members of the Society for 12 years or longer, may apply to the Secretary for senior membership. They shall have the right to attend all meetings, present papers, participate in all discussions and vote, but not hold office or serve on committees.
If you are interested in joining The Halsted Society, you will need to have a current member (Active or Senior) present your name for nomination. It is highly recommended that a potential nominee attend an annual meeting as a guest prior to being nominated.
The nominee should send the following information: Application for Membership including statement of interest, current curriculum vitae (CV), and at least two letters of support from current Halsted members should be forwarded separately. This information should be sent to the Secretary/Treasurer by June 1st:
